Seam Guide Line As loThe numbers on the needle plate indicate the distance between the left needle position and the line. The numbers in the front indicate in millimeters. The numbers in the back indicate in inches. Raise the needle by turning the handwheel toward you and lower the presser foot. Turn off the power switch. Loosen the needle clamp screw by turning it counter- clockwise. Place the spool of thread on the spool with the thread coming off the spool as shown.

I have tested it with cloth under the presser foot in the down position and the pressure will only hold in an increased pressure setting as I rotate through the dial. As I bought this machine for quilting and free motion design as it currently stands, I cannot quilt my Christmas presents!
